On Thursday, Sept. 10, Director of Human Resources for TicketNetwork.com David Brogan, officially told the Connecticut Department of Labor that Ticket Network is planning to reduce its staff by about 60 employees between now and December.
TicketNetwork sells admission to large entertainment, concert, sporting, and other such events. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on how many people can gather together, many venues have canceled shows leaving TicketNetwork with fewer tickets to sell.
The federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 (WARN) requires companies to notify the state when they are planning to do mass layoffs or hour reductions. This gives the WARN team time to connect with impacted employees to connect them with other jobs or work services.
All the layoffs will be done at the 75 Gerber Road East, South Windsor location.
“It is with great caution that we give the end date of the lay-off as unknown circumstance regarding governmental restrictions on those things, including social distancing, continued to affect our industry and have already affected our ability to enact an expected recall of employees affected by la-pff in June,” Brogan said.
The lay-offs should be temporary, Brogan noted.
Jobs are being cut in broker services, web operations, engineering, fraud prevention, order fulfillment.
